Offered for auction and coming from a Victorian farmstead in Mid-Coast Maine, is a very nice teapot that is in excellent condition. The teapot is marked on the base (in a circle) "Rogers Smith & Co. - Quadruple Plate". Below the circle is "1931 and 5". Above the circle is marked "C3527". My understanding is that the use of the term "Quadruple Plate" last occurred in 1895, dating this teapot back over 110 years plus. It is in great shape - none of the base metal in evidence. A pair of very handsome birds decorates the throat of the spout - Floral motiff is found in the bands and on the handle. No dings, dents or other forms of damage are present. The pot stands 8-1/2" in height from the top of the finial - the base is 4-3/4" in diameter. A very nice vintage teapot made by a well known firm in great shape. Please e-mail me with any questions. Thanks you for your interest. Please note that I ship only through the US Post Office - cost is solely that charged by the US Post Office to ship from my zip code to that of the winning bidder's.
