This vase is in exceptional condition for its age of 100+ years. Made by Rulolstadt of Germany, this piece features a handpainted and outlined in gold wisteria vine in bloom with raised Victorian era swashes and swirls. The gilt handles show some wear, particularly on the top of the left handle, but this is minor. T are no other issues with the piece. Lovely soft yellow finish with deeper gradations in some areas. Bears the Rudolstadt backstamp on the bottom. This stands 12 1/8" tall with a 6" width from handle to handle. Just a gorgeous piece! No reserve on this ...vases this size from Rudolstadt are valued in the $100-200 range.Rudolstadt was a faience factory in the Thuringia region of Germany from 1720 to about 1791. In 1854, Ernst Bohne began working in the area. From about 1887 to 1918, the era in which this vase was produced, Rudolstadt Pottery made decorated porcelain marked with the RW and crown familiar to collectors. This porcelain was imported by Lewis Straus and Sons of New York, which later became Nathan Straus and Sons. Most pieces found today were made in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
