Here is a nice 1827 (7 over 6) US Capped Bust silver half dollar from the Philadelphia Mint. Mintage: 5,493,400 including 7/6 variety. .8924 silver, 12.03 grams silver content. Lettered edge (can't be seen when in the holder). The "7 over 6" is not really a mint error. The mints would sometimes re-tool the dies to get more usage from them. The traces of the number 6 are faint and may not be visible in the photo. Obverse condition: Slight even wear. "Liberty" on the cap is strong. Shoulder clasp, adjacent curl, and hair above the brow are all clear and show good detail. Reverse: There is a die break (defect) just inside the rim that runs around about 50% of the circumference. Part of "Pluribus" and the A in "States" are weak/missing - probably due to a worn die. Both these defects are visible in the photo. Magnification shows a few faint scratches on both sides. The line you may see above the date in photos is not on the coin itself, but is sealing tape on the slab. Shipped in slab as shown. The assigned grade shown on the slab is very generous - HCGS grading is not recognized by eBay. Coin is shiny and may have been cleaned. Hopefully photos are clear enough for you to judge. FREE USPS First Class shipping to the USA. Expedited delivery and insurance are available at additional cost. Thank You For Viewing My Auction! 06/0 read more
