This is one of 2500 medals commissioned by the Swiss canton of Basel. It was designed by Antoine Bovy. The obverse has a fallen hero at St. Jacob an der Birs. The reverse has a patriotic poem with nine symbols surrounding it. This medal is uncirculated, has some bagmarks on it, and a very slight rim nick at the 1:00 position on the obverse. It measures 38mm, and weighs 28 grams.
