This auction is for the antique 55-piece Sheffield Plate Dessert Serving and Flatware Set shown.It comes in its original chest with 5 stacking trays.Also included is the bill of sale from when my husband's grandparents purchased the set in 1971 from the London Silver Vaults. The bill of sale indicates the set was made circa 1845.T are 24 dessert knives, 24 dessert forks and a 7 piece dessert serving set which includes a knife, fork, scissors (may be grape scissors?) and 4 crackers (possibly nutcrackers?).T is no key for the lock on the chest, but the chest does not close completely so I don't think it would lock anyway. I think something was placed in the latch hole to prevent it from seating all the way when the key was lost. Shipping weight is 17 pounds.
