Hello and thanks for stopping by! Up for bids today, a FANTASTIC OVOID ribbed Hoosier canister, circa 1870 !!! It's BIG too, measuring 8" tall by 5 3/4" wide by 5" deep. The mouth is 4 3/4" in diameter, so you can easily get to the contents! The canister is in EXCELLENT condition , with NO chips, NO scratches and NO cracks that I could see. It is unlabeled, so you can use it to store coffee, tea, or whatever you wish! The glass is clear and heavy with gorgeous ribbing all the way 'round. The bottom has a patent number---100014, and a maker's mark, which I cannot decipher. On the left side of the mark is the number 3 and on the right side is the number 0. The top is the original tin lid. It is also in great condition with no holes or cracks. Some of the black paint has worn off over time. It screws on and off easily and fits securely .
