Early view of the famed New Hampshire resort areaOriginal albumen photo, "The Crown of New England, Mt. Washington [New Hampshire]," bearing the backstamp of B. W. Kilburn, Littleton, New Hampshire, circa 1870s - 1880s, 7 x 4.25 in. on an 8.5 x 5 mount, a bit of mild soiling and very faint spotting, otherwise fine, clean condition. The detailed image depicts a summertime view of the train that carried scores of visitors to Mount Washington. Three figures, including a woman, stand on the roof of the locomotive; three other figures, including a small child, are on the cow catcher. Several others stand on the platform in front of the rustic shed. Several other buildings, and the majestic landscape, are visible in the distance. PAYMENT/SHIPPING: Offered with no reserve!
