You are bidding on an VERY EAR LY...DATED 1876 & BEAUTIFUL "LIBERTY HEAD PICTORIAL" (LIKE A COIN FROM 1870s) and BELIEVE RARE old "good for" style trade token which actually was worth " 25 (in trade) " at a merchant business called " J. W. CO. , GOLD REGION " which I believe operated most likely in DEADWOOD, DAKOTA TERRITORY...and possibly FORT SANDERS, DAKOTA TERRITORY (now wyoming). This is an amazing early token. It is dated 1876...which puts it right around the heyday for Deadwood and vicinity. The phrase "GOLD REGION" narrows it down further. Note the "liberty head" pictorial surrounded by stars, very similar to coinage from that era. THIS EXACT TOKEN IS LISTED ON THE TOKEN CATALOG WEBSITE AS "DEADWOOD, DAKOTA TERRITORY"....BUT SITE ALSO NOTES, A DIFFERENT DENOMINATION SIMILAR, AS BEING USED IN "FORT SANDERS, DAKOTA TERRITORY".......near Laramie, now present day Wyoming. THIS IS A RARE TOKEN, AND ONE I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE. Early merchant token is brass metal, round, about 25mm in size, and it displays very nicely. (please see pictures in gallery) Token has strong details, looks great in person. Gallery pictures should give you all the information you need. EARLY and BEAUTIFUL "LIBERTY PICTORIAL" merchant "good for" token , once used at the at the J. B. COMPANY, GOLD REGION business, which believe operated in DEADWOOD, read more
