Here is an 1878 Morgan dollar minted in Philadelphia to add to your collection. This type was first introduced in 1878 and issued until 1904 and one year in 1921. George T. Morgan designed this type dollar which is now synonymous with his name. The front shows Lady Liberty in all her fineness. The reverse shows an eagle with laurel leaves in one claw and arrows in another. The mint mark is located underneath the wreath at the bottom above the word "dollar". The dollars minted in Philadelphia do not show a mint mark. This dollar is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.This dollar appears in a AOUT GOOD CIRCULATED condition.
