This is the only known survey level by William Gardam and I don't believe there are any known complete transits or full size survey compasses either. It was made about 1885, it has the olderdetachable level base characteristic of 1880 vintage instruments. It measures18 inches long, the optics are dirty and the focus is stuck, one of the little wye level pins fits to loosely, the slow motion tangent screw is missing, and the level bubble is broke. I could probably fix all these things myself but since I am not keeping the level, am choosing to sell it as is. Since it is such high quality and one of a kind, it is worthy of restoration. It c omes with the original box as you can see in the photos, nothing else. Postage is $30.00 if within the US, no international shipping since this is such a large level; no charge for careful packing. Here is a little information about William Gardam: W.
