Morton in 1888. This silk jugate ribbon is one of the best woven ribbons I've ever seen, and its condition is exceptional! T are no stains, rips, or loosened threads on this silk ribbon. Corners are sharp. Stitching is of the highest quality. You must examine this ribbon up close!Ribbon maker is "Hand & McGuinness. Patterson N.J. George R. Osborn. New York. Sole Agent.".Ribbon reads: "Republican Candidates. For President (right profile of Harrison) Vice President (left profile of Morton) Harrison. Ind. - Morton. N.Y. (bald eagle on American crest and three American flags) Protection to American Industry." One more interesting thing about this silk ribbon is the profile image of Vice President Morton. In all other images of L.P. Morton that I've ever come across, he looks much different in profile. More handsome perhaps? I've submitted a few other photos for you to compare.
