Although he was only 5'6" in height, Benjamin Harrison stood tall with the Republican Party and was nominated on the eighth ballot in 1888 to run against Grover Cleveland. The grandson of former President William Henry Harrison, he chose Levi Morton as his Vice-Presidential running mate. In the election of 1888, Harrison lost the popular vote to Cleveland by more than 100,000 votes, but captured the electoral vote to be named the 23rd President of the United States. This is an original 20" x 20" square silk/linen/who knows? scarf/wall hanging/who knows? campaign item promoting the Republican ticket of Harrison and Morton. The condition is excellent with some minor soiling/staining (which can probably be cleaned). The red, white, and blue colors are still vibrant and t are no rips or holes in the material. Winner pays $4.60 for Priority Mail shipping, and must remit payment no later than 10 days from closing date of auction or item will be replisted without notice.
