Unusual c.1890 Satsuma teapot, - interesting melon form, vine molded handle with leaves, vine molded spout with small applied melon, - large stagecoach being pulled on front, reverse showing person/dome on open carraige/possibly shoulder carried?, possibly depicting the early stagecoaches of the time traveling to the Japanese interior?, raised gold and white enamel “jewel” decorations (Moriage), - 11.5” tall, 9” handle to spout. Condition- excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs . (130)
