Rare 1893 Journal of the World's Columbian Exposition No. 29 dated July 1893 Up for auction is a very scarce July, 1893 edition of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition Illustrated Journal, issue number 29. Measuring 15-1/2" in height and 10-1/2" in w idt h, it is printed in black and white with the exception of the front and back covers which are in full color. Contains numerous early advertisin g covering a wide variety of pro ducts including such things a tr undle sewing machines, typewrite rs, bicycles, watches and even hot water heater s which read "BATH E EARL Y AN D OFTEN" ( see back cover photo!) It has a number of articles in side covering the exposition , dis plays, and individual foreig n del egates to the exposition. The cover and pages are intact with wear to the binding, rusty staples, edge te ar on the binding about 1" on the top and 3" on the bottom. There is some creasing and and sma ll portion of the cover missing at the top right. Th e inside pages are clean, solid an d and comp lete. The first page inside the cover has been stamped on the margin on the lower right han d corner "DEACCESSIONED BY CHICAGO HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRINTED COLLECTION" which means that this was sold by the soci ety at one time.
