It just doesn't get any better than this! is an original, hand written in ink personal diary of Frederick Charles Rossiter who was a Mormon missionary in the Society Islands in the 1890s. I've done quite a bit of research on him and his family and have included a portion of it It is extremely rare to find original LDS (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) items from this time period. Especially of a well known church member such as Rossiter. When reading the excerpts below it is plain that the information in the diary is extraordinary. It details the daily life of the missionaries and discusses mundane subjects like the price of clothing and food. But also has very important information such as the natives and government trying to ban the missionaries from preaching and teaching. T is even a full transcription of the petition sent to the French Governor of the Islands regarding their status included on 5 pages of the diary. I've abstracted a portion of it below. The first 80 pages of the diary are written in shorthand. The remaining pages are in English. T is a total of 238 pages in the diary. Every page is written on. In the back t are 9 pages that were used as a ledger to record various things including Rossiter's cash account, letters received and written, and distances travelled.
