A 118 year old Declaratrion of Independence! July 4, 1895, Declaration of Independence Lithograph, issued by The Chicago Tribune, printed by Sherwood Lith. Co., Chicago, IL In its period frame, this old Declaration wants a home with a patriotic collector. Most of the Declaration copies sold were printed in the mid-20th century, 1940 to 1970. Most are made to look old, but this one IS old.The Chicago Tribune commissioned the Sherwood Lithographic company to produce this to celebrate the 4th of July, 1895. VERY few of these surface today, most having been lost due to mishandling, or just thrown away after the 4th celebration was over. This one was framed, and it appears never removed from that frame. Because so few were kept, those remaining are quite rare, and surface for sale on few occasions.Don't just own a recent, made to look old, copy of our birth certificate, own a real 19th century copy.
