Offered is a 117 year old piece of Russian History. This is an antique enameled metal Coronation Cup from 1896, the era of the last Czar of Russia, Imperial Czar Nicholas, II. These beakers were given out a couple of days later at the Cornation Festivities in Moscow. Nearly half a million people gathered there to receive food and gifts as part of the celebration. At some point, a rumor spread that there was not enough to go around. Chaos and confusion erupted. This resulted in almost 1,400 people being trampled to death. Because of that, these pieces became known as the "Blood Cup," or the Russian "Cup of Sorrows." The front of the cup is decorated with the year and the Imperial Crowned Initials of Nicholas II. The other side shows the Russian Imperial Arms. It also features an ornamental scroll design. The cup is in a good condition see pictures, considering its age and history. It has one spot where the enamel was damaged, but it has been restored . See pictures.
