Offering a historical FREEPORT, ILLINOIS city directory 1898-1899. This 410 page directory is packed with great advertising featuring the historical early days of Freeport and area towns Include are several full pages advertising including HENNEY BUGGY CO, FRANZ BROTHERS BREWERY, HOTEL BREWSTER, ARADE MFG. CO, BAIER & OHLENDORF BREWERY AND OTHERS. The directory includes the names and addresses of several thousand residents and businesses. There are very few telephone numbers but only for businesses. Featured is a listing of all of the schools and government offices. Too many items to list separately. 6 1/2 x 9". 1 5/8 inches thick. Hard bound. The directory is heavily damaged but all intact with tons of great information about Freeport and the surrounding towns from the late 1800's This is a very rare directory with only a couple of examples known to exist......one is at the Freeport library.On 11/12/19 I have added one additional photo showing two pages of the residential section.
