Published by Century in 1899; copyright by Century in 1895. Illustrated by John Lockwood Kipling. Book has decorative gilt and embossed work to covers. Book is very good+ and in bright condition, gold page tops, very light corner and edge wear, very light bumping, personal notation by original owner noting it was a Christmas 1903 gift. 324 clean and solidly bound pages.Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was an English poet, short-story writer, and novelist who is now chiefly remembered for: his celebration of British imperialism; tales and poems of British soldiers in India; and his tales for children. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907
