Georgian/Victorian Chinese Export Chafing Dish - Urn/Willow - Made for English Market. This Chinese warming dish was made for the English market between the late 1700's or up to the 1830's and is late Georgian or early Victorian. It features an invalid theme (urn and willow). The urn and willow amorial denotes death or approaching death. It can be seen on many 18th century gravestones. Over the past twenty years, I have only seen two similar chafing dishes. Please see pictures for hand painted detail and condition. There is a 3/4" chip at 4 o'clock. The left handle has been partially repaired. measurements: width with handles - 11" diameter - 9 1/2" height - 3/4" Please take a look at the additional porcelain pieces that I listed this week. Let me know if you have any questions.!
