Leather Bound Business Ledger Book that has a few pages used as a ledger, the rest filled with HANDWRITTEN and CLIPPED RECIPES mainly for CAKES, COOKIES, SWEET SYRUPS, and OTHER DESSERTS. The few pages that were used as a Business Ledger have clipped recipe articles on them as well. One of the Business Ledger pages still shows a place and date of DETROIT 1873 at the top, however the ledger was clearly turned into a recipe scrapbook at a later time. The recipes handwritten on the pages give a sense of the turn of the last century, say 1900,.however, some of the clipped newspaper recipes and laid in handwritten recipes indicate dates in the 1920s and 1930s. I would therefore guess that the recipes were gathered over a period of years, perhaps 1900 to 1930.A handwritten index is on the first two leaves. Most are for Cakes, Puddings, Pies, Cookies, Candy, and other desserts, though there are a few for Bread, Salad Dressings, Pickles, Vegetables and Soups.Leather Bound Hardcover Book, blind embossed designs on the covers, 4 large raised spine bands, marbled endpapers, 7.5x12.5 inches, 353 numbered pages but some leaves have been removed, including pages 16-37 and probably others.Here is a pagination of the pages that have recipes: 2 page Index, 15 pages of pasted on newspaper articles with recipes (steam pudding, reather cake, almond
