Book Description: Thomas Fleming, Around the ‘Pan’ With Uncle Hank. His Trip Through the Pan-American Exposition, New York: The NutShell Publishing Co., 1901, 262 pages plus endorsements. While a First Edition, it is not the first printing. Brown title on salmon boards. Minor soiling to cover, but binding is tight and pages clean and bright. Overall in very good to near fine condition. Frontispiece drawn engraving of President McKinley done in one continuous line by the author. Numerous illustrations throughout, some of which are in color, of Uncle Hank visiting various sites at the fair. The author’s attempt was to evoke humor, especially poignant when one realizes that McKinley was assassinated at this Fair in Buffalo by disappointed office seeker, Charles Guiteau.
