You are bidding on: Rare Miniature BookSt. Louis Exposition in a Nutshell1904 St. Louis Exposition in a Nutshell provides an architectural synopsis ofthe Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904, housed within a walnut shell.Produced by the Nutshell Novelty Company of Chicago , this commemorativesouvenir of the world's fair is surprisingly informative: it includes forty-four photographic views of the buildings erected on the 1,200-acre fairground site. The views are printed on a strip of paper that is foldedaccordion-style into the shell. Designed as temporary structures made of wood and plaster, few of theLouisiana Purchase Exposition buildings exist today. St. Louis Exposition in a Nutshell is a piece of ephemera that managed to outlastthe architecture it commemorates. Measurements 1.25" wide x 1.75" longCondition is Very Good + to Excellent:(( Third picture is a professional shot...not of our own )).Others examples I was able to find had worn ribbon.Our ribbon is very fresh. Paper accordian in ours has two panels with tears(both can be seen in 7th photo - one is shown backside in last shot)Some light foxing to paper. read more
