Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Rendered into English Verse by Edward Fitzgerald. With Illustrations by Edmund Dulac London: Hodder & Stoughton, (1909.) 8 3/4 b7 10 3/4. First trade edition. Hardcover. Illustrated by Edmund Dulac with 20 superb color plates, mounted within decorative borders and protected by tissue; decorative endpapers and title page; each text page printed with a brown floral border. Unpaginated. 4to.Spine darkened, covers with some spotting; a couple tissues creased - but overall a nice copy.A book which went through numerous editions - a tribute to the beauty of Dulac's illustrations! - but as best I can determine this English version with 20 plates is the first trade edition.I'm coming to start it off low - you tell me what it's worth.
