I have for your consideration an old Fenton compote. Very scarce and rarely seen in opalescent. The pattern is called Rose Spray. It can be seen in Edwards & Carwile's Opalescent Glass Encyclopedia. This compote is a Whimsey jack in pulpit version of the original mold. Making this, of course, even more rare. The rose spray design, as stated in the book, is faint and I have tried to photograph as well as possible. The piece sits at 4" in height at the tallest point in the pulpit. Is just under 5" in diameter at widest. The base is 2 1/2" in diameter. There are no chips or cracks. It does have a couple straw marks in the base of the bowl which is normal for the production age of this glass. It is a desirable addition to any Fenton collection.
