1910s cabinet card photo, taken by Amos DuBois of Niotaze, Kansas, showing the construction of a barn; the former owner identified the barn as belonging to the Greer family at Havana, KS, twice destroyed by tornadoes. The photographer, Amos DuBois, did not arrive in Kansas until around 1906, and, by 1920, he and his family were in Ohio. While in Niotaze, he belonged to the I.O.O.F. and the Independent Order of Foresters. The image shows 5 men helping, with each one holding a carpenter's tool of some sort, i.e. a saw, a heavy mallet, measuring devices, etc. A young boy is also with the men atop the structure. One man and several women and children are pictured in front of the structure, including a young boy on a white horse. Great architectural photo for ca. 1910 Kansas. Image is approximately 7 7/8 x 9 ¾" ona a 11 x 14" card. Photo is very good and the card has damage to the corners and edges of card. NO LOCAL PICKUPS.
