Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Check it out...Here's a very uncommon @ 6" wide by 9" tall 32-paged complete program from the "New Carlisle Chautauqua New Carlisle, Ohio August 17-25, 1912" with a collage of images titled "New Carlisle Scenes" on the front cover-The inside is full of images and ads from local businesses and great photos of the speakers , politicians and celebrities that will be appearing to speak at the event-The Chautauqua was an adult education movement in the United States, highly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Chautauqua assemblies expanded and spread throughout rural America until the mid-1920s. The Chautauqua brought entertainment and culture for the whole community, with speakers, teachers, musicians, entertainers, preachers and specialists of the day. Former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt was quoted as saying that Chautauqua is "the most American thing in America."-Really a great local display item!
