Cook & Son, London.This 5 X 7.25 in., 161 page hardcover guide book is bound in flexible, green cloth boards. There's information on places of interest of Peking, and shorter sections on some outlying Chinese cities: Tientsin, Mukden, Pei-tai-ho, Dairen, as well as Port Arthur and Seoul (Keijyo), Korea. Black and white photos throughout, and 3 very nice, fold-out maps (of South Manchuria Railway & Steamship Connections, Peking and Keijyo). At the very back are 22 pages of ads for various businesses.Enclosed is a letter, handwritten with the American Legation, Peking letterhead, to one Mrs. Penney, from ?Eileen Hule, regarding a dress that required additional tailoring.The book is in good condition. Mild external wear. Front hinge paper is torn and there's an inscription from Truman Penney on the front flyleaf. Otherwise, the book is unmarked and securely bound.
