This pair of wall sconces came from a two-family brick house in the Bronx built in the 1920's (a time period when that particular neighborhood was populated by professional and other very well-to-do people). They were removed from the walls in the 1950's to make room for tall furniture and have been stored in the attic since then. You'd need an electrician or handyman to replace the wires and sockets. (Please note that I have another pair of these listed that are in excellent condition -- this set needs repiar and replacement parts). These were hand-painted - some areas have a "pebbly" raised design and were painted a cream color, other areas were highlighted with touches of red and bluish-green, and t are areas of unpainted brass as contrasts. T are little "dripping candle covers" that go over the candle sockets and each "candlelight" has a little beaded metal drawcord that you pull down to turn the light on and off. They measure 14.5 inches long and the "mounting circle" is approximately 4.5 inches. The overall width is approximately 10 inches and they protrude approximately 5 inches from the wall. I don't know what the metal underneath is since I'm a nincompoop when it comes to distinguishing types of metal). THIS IS A REPAIR SET AND IS PRICED MUCH LOWER THAN THE OTHER SET I HAVE LISTED. This set is missing three of the four metal read more
