Official Reach American League baseball signed by 15 members of the 1928 Philadelphia Athletics. The Athletics team managed by Connie Mack featured three future Hall of Famers including Ty Cobb in his final season. The team finished second in the American League with a 98-55 record 2 1/2 games behind the Yankees' Murderers' Row. The ball has been signed by Cobb along with Lefty Grove (HOF - sweet spot) and Mickey Cochrane (HOF) along with Jimmy Dykes (2) Eddie Rommel (2) Carroll Yerkes Cy Perkins Bing Miller Rube Walberg Walt French Mule Haas Max Bishop and Joe Boley. The signatures were applied in a combination of blue and black fountain pen and exhibit varying degrees of fading though all of the signatures are legible. The ball is coated with a very light coat of shellac barely noticeable. The Cobb signature appears high on the north panel an excellent position for display.
