1930s Dobro / Wards R esonator M andolin This is a 1930s Dobro resonator mandolin, although it doesn't have the Dobro decal on the headstock. This was apparently made by Regal under the Dobro license for Montgomery Wards. There is a label inside the right F-hole that says "WARDS" on it. This resonator mandolin has a very unique sound, somewhere between the sound of a Dobro and a mandolin. If you've ever heard a resonator mandolin from National, this is a bit more "woody" than that. It plays wonderful and has a beautiful sound. The only condition issue is in the binding where the tailpiece connects to the body. I have taken pictures so you can see. All in all it looks, plays and sounds great for a 30’s instrument. It comes with a gig bag. Buyers from other countries please contact me for actual shipping cost. The Ebay calculator tends to be too high sometimes. I will personally get the exact shipping cost for any serious international buyer. Please include your country, city and postal code.
