Offered today is this super nice large fringed satin "sweetheart" souvenir pillow cover dating from the early - mid 1930s. The piece measures roughly 16 1/2 in. X 16 1/2 in. and is in excellent unused condition. The pillow depicts a very nice detailed and colored M1926 "Droop Wing" EGA as well as a longboat full of Marines going ashore wearing WW1 style helmets. T is also a detailed side view of a Northampton Class Heavy Cruiser at the bottom with the words "San Diego" below. This class of cruisers were all launched between 1928 and 1930 and several were lost in the Pacific during WW2. Also emblazoned in large stencil like Marine style letters across the middle is "U.S. MARINE CORPS," and a poem dedicated "To My Wife." Very nice unfaded and vibrant colors on this piece, really great like new condition. A nice addition to your vintage U.S. Marine or home front collection!!!
