This 1931 Ford Model A Roadster Convertible is a Danbury Mint exclusive. All components are hand crafted and painted, and the model is constructed to an exact 1:24 scale of its original. In 1927 Henry Ford introduced the beautiful new Model A to replace the legendary Model T motorcar – the beloved “Tin Lizzy”. The Model A was a completely new automobile designed to proudly carry on the T’s long tradition of excellence. When the American public got its first glimpse of “The New Ford”, it was love at first sight. Within two weeks of its introduction, Ford had 400,000 advance orders. The Model A was peppy, jazzy-looking and a favorite with the “in-crowd” of the day. No version of this popular car was more desirable than the 1931 Ford Model A Roadster. The Roadster’s racy styling represented high-fashion motoring at its finest. The color of this model is Ford’s Stone Brown. The doors open to reveal the detailed interior featuring a fully functional steering wheel, genuine leather seats and two movable wind vanes on the windshield. The louvered hood opens on both sides to reveal the incredibly detailed 4-cylinder engine. The rumble seat opens to view the genuine leather covering.
