Fully original vintage Program from 1st All-Star Game, Thursday, July 6, 1933. A. L. won Game, 4-2 before 47,595 at COMISKEY PARK, Chicago. Yankees' Lefty Gomez over Cardinals' Bill Hallahan. This is the official game program/scorecard as sold at COMISKEY PARK. As such, it was printed by Bentley, Murray & Co. for the game (see picture). Clean and neatly scored showing Babe's historic 3rd-inning clout (pictured) !The 1933 All-Star Game was first held at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair in Chicago. The All-Star Game was the idea of Arch Ward, the sports editor of the Chicago Tribune. It was initially intended to be a one-time event. Connie Mack (A.L.) and John McGraw (N.L.) were selected to manage the squads. Fans and managers picked the game's players.The American League got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. NL pitcher Bill Hallahan issued one-out walks to Jimmy Dykes and Joe Cronin.
