In a moment of clarity (or insanity), I've decided to offer up some of my favorite trumpets for sale. It's not that I don't love these horns. It's simply a matter of too many. So, for your consideration this week is a late-1939 Martin Handcraft Imperial (Lion & Crown) trumpet. This is a medium bore (.451) as denoted by the "2" paired with the serial number on the second valve. The Lacquer is about 90% and is original factory lacquer. There are no major damage to this horn, nor does it appear that there ever has been. Only a couple of very minor micro-pings can be found when inspecting this trumpet. The valves are fast and smooth. Compression is fairly good for a trumpet of this vintage, considering it's never had the valves worked as far as I can tell. Included with this trumpet is the original Martin case. It is a bit musty and the left latch doesn't spring up when released, but is is original and functional. For those of you who know the Martin Handcraft, the horn needs no explanation. However, I'm going to offer up a little information on these trumpets. Up to 1939, the Handcraft Imperial was Martin's professional horn.
