Original 1944 World War II Officers Dress Visor Hat, size 7 1/4 . Has a rear chin strap. These rear straps are equipped with a buckle for adjustment, likely to keep the cap held tightly on the head when necessary. The sweatband does not have a logo. However, t is information stamped on the inside of the sweatband (see photo). The top line reads " Caps, Service, Fur Felt, Officers ". Also stated are the size, code number, specification number, stock number & date it was made: September 21, 1944 . The bottom line reads " Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot ". The olive drab felt top has a few pin size moth bites (not holes, see photo), but these are not very noticeable. The stitching on this cap is tight. T are no holes or snags. The stiffener band is included. The bill is full leather & quite flexible; it is not dried or cracked, but the underneath side is somewhat stained. Like most 60+ year old visor hats, the inner cover is dried and hardened. This very attractive vintage item is in VG to VG+ Condition .
