1947 Philadelphia A's vs. St. Louis Browns Program Shibe Park, May 18 Final scores - A's 4 - Browns 3 (Game 1, scored in pencil) A's 5 - Browns 2 12 pages with pre-printed lineups, scored. Very good condition. There's a 1 1/2" split at the base of the spine and a 1/2" split at the top. There's also a 1/2" tear on the right edge of the covers and pages, and the top right tips of the pages are bent. The binding is tight. Someone wrote two dates on the front cover and a linescore for the game on the front cover with the winning and losing pitchers, although the linescore and pitchers don't match the official box score. 1947 Philadelphia A's program - This is a classic A's program from the 1947 season that I believe is from the first game of a May 18 doubleheader against the Browns at Shibe Park . The A's won the game with a 2-run outburst in the ninth inning to overcome a 3-2 Browns lead. Phil Marchildon is writen in as the winning pitcher of the game, although A's reliever Jesse Flores was credited with the win, and the final score was 4-3, not 3-2. There were two home runs in the game, Jerry Witte of the Browns and Philadelphia's Sam Chapman each hit solo shots, and Nelson Potter was the losing pitcher for St. Louis.
