compote with lid, 2 goblet candle holders; received as a gift in the 1950's; in pristine condition made of porcelain/ceramic, the inside of each is glaze d in deep blue/violet; difficult to describe, the exterior texture is uniformly carved vertical lines at 1/8" intervals, painted with matte shades of aqua, lilac, orange, black; the trim around top, middle and base is also carved horizontally, forming tiny squares which are painted with gold-leaf designs over black compote measures: 8" high with lid, 6 1/2" wide candle goblets measure: 5" high, 3 1/2" wide, hold a small taper candle on close examination, all pieces are without flaw or damage; I see only a spot of missing gold paint at the very inside center of compote lid handle (appears to be original); bottom of compote is numbered 869; bottom of goblets are numbered 862; all pieces inscribed "Italy" note: shipping weight nearly 6 pounds - there are 3 shipping options for your consideration
