It's beautifully designed, German precision made. It's small, compact and durable, all metal. Superb optics, f:2/50mm Xenon lens, nearly silent leaf shutter, above average finder, and simple, straightforward design. • Specifically, this camera body is serial #575058 and the Schneider Krueznach Retina-Xenon 50mm f/2 lens (in Synchro Compur shutter) is serial #2966712. Retina IIa, (Type 016), manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany, between 1951 & 1954. Folding lens design, coupled rangefinder, compur-type leaf shutter, allowing electronic flash sync up to the maximum speed of 1/500 sec. Shutter 1 to 1/500th, plus B. Green selector lever switches to M for flashbulbs or X for electronic flash.
