Pair of Wedgwood Jasper Square Trinket Boxes commemorating the Coronation of QUEEN ELIZABETH II in 1953. The boxes measure 4" by 4" and are 1 1/2" high. They are of Pale Blue Jasper with white bas-relief decoration. One has the bas-relief portrait of Queen Elizabeth and the other the bas-relief portrait of his HRH Duke of Edinburgh. Both portraits have crowns above and are flanked by wreaths of laurel leaves. Under the portrait of the Queen is a banner with "HM QUEEN ELIZABETH II - JUNE 1953" and, under the Duke, the banner reads "HRH DUKE OF EDINBURGH". Around the base pieces are also applied laurel leaves. The Wedgwood mark is impressed into the underside of the bases and has the script "1953 CORONATION WEDGWOOD PALE BLUE JASPER MADE IN ENGLAND". Both pieces are in good condition, free of chips or cracks. If you are bidding on more than one item, I will endeavor to combine shipping.
