First, a young man on a criminal path learns why a closet in his boyhood home was 'Forbidden!' Then, when an alien space fleet glides silently toward Earth, military leaders prepare for a 'Crisis!' Next, a conniving gold-digger pursues the woman whose money he loves, but gets his comeuppance when he tries to discover 'W Is Lola Drake?' Then, is the rock that Jim Carter claims to be a fuel source that will make space travel possible the real deal or is it 'The Fake'? Next, Captain Trent scuttles his ship and then loses his nerve, but that was before he has a remarkable encounter with 'The Strange Man!' Finally, you'll learn the secret of 'The Empty Room!' in this story of an English Lord who blames himself for his son's death. T's also a two-page text story (with illos by Reed Crandall ) titled 'The Traveler'. And in addition, you'll find tons of great vintage advertisements inside.This comic is in very solid shape for its age and does not have any major flaws. We rate it Fine + condition or better . T are no actual creases on the cover, just some scattered scratches and wrinkles, mild chipping along some edges and corners, a few tiny tears, minor soiling and general discoloration, a handful of small stress marks, and mild-to-moderate spine wear. The staples are beautifully tight and clean (inside and out), the spine is almost perfectly straight and flat, the corners are reasonably square, and the cover gloss is extremely good overall. Inside, t is about average browning along the edges of the newsprint, the page are generally clean, flat and supple, and the interior colors are practically as sharp, bold, rich and vivid as they were the day this comic was printed.If you're a fan of high quality early Silver Age suspense/thriller anthologies, this comic belongs in your collection. With care, it should have very good potential as an investment for the future. The new 2007 Guide value in Near Mint condition is $245.00, more than four times the $60.00 value it had back in 1994!
