1968 Walt Disney MICKEY MOUSE American Heritage Hardcvr "SATURDAY'S TOYS Presents..." a vintage Walt Disney collectible featuring MICKEY MOUSE. This April 1968 issue of AMERICAN HERITAGE salutes Mickey Mouse and the history of the Walt Disney Studio. , the 25th Anniversary portrait (by artist and Disney legend, JOHN HENCH) is again used for a wonderful display cover on this hardcover book. Very good condition; 112 pages; 9" x 11". Includes several rarely published black & white photographs. Features a detailed article from "Bringing Forth the Mouse" by Richard Schickel. The book was later published by Simon and Schuster as "The Disney Version." Schickel's thesis is that Mickey's evolution through the years reflected a close parallel to Walt's own need to continually improve his public image. The first of several controversial books on Walt Disney to appear after Walt's untimely passing in December 1968.
