ONE OF A KIND, HISTORIC 1968 NEW YORK YANKEES PROGRAM vs. Detroit Tigers and Denny McClain (31-win season), August 24, 1968, Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY. In one of his final games in baseball, 37-year-old, knee-ravaged Mickey Mantle bunts for a base hit against 25-4 Tigers ace Denny McLain. This may have been Mantle's final bunt single -- another historic moment in the Mick's legacy. Yankees, behind Roy White's 2-run homer, upset McLain to make his record 25-5. McLain went on to win AL MVP and AL Cy Young awards with incredible 31-6 record, and Tigers won 1968 World Series. Met Stottlemyre picthed a complete-game win to beat McLain. Al Kaline pinch-hit for Tigers, and Willie Horton hit a solo homer. This is an original program of this seller who attended the game and kept the program in a smoke-free, pet-free home. It is scored to show Mantle's bunt single. Free shipping.
