Scarce, Original promotional pinback button, "Free Charles Manson" [n.d.] circa-1969. Produced by the staff of a Lawrence , Kansas underground newspaper, who believed Manson was being framed for murder by the U.S. government, the buttons were produced to raise consciousness about the Manson trail and raise money for their paper -- reportedly, only about 20 were actually sold. An uncommon, original late-1960s counterculture piece surrounding the Manson Family, Sharon Tate and the Tate-LaBianca murders. Nice condition with a small rust stain on the upper-right area of the button. Measures 1 ¾ inches in diameter.
