1970 COINAGE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN & NORTHERN IRELAND PROOF SET On 15th February 1971 the United Kingdom adopted the decimal coinage system. This proof set contains some of the last examples of the old coinage. This Queen Elizabeth II proof cased set of eight coins contains: the halfpenny the penny the three penny piece the sixpence both the English & the Scottish shillings the florin (two shillings) the halfcrown plus the official Royal Mint cartouche The coins are sealed in the original clear plastic case The case size is 165mm (6.5") x 115mm (4.5") It comes with a leaflet telling the history of the coins, & all of this comes in the official Royal Mint rigid envelope-style packet This set of coins is in mint uncirculated condition Please refer to the photos as this is the actual coin set you will receive This auction has a low starting price & no reserve ****** IMPORTANT NOTICE, PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING....
