More cool vintage childhood memories from when we lived in San Diego (our west coast location after coming back from Japan, "Navy family") in the early 70's. The San Diego Chargers were my first NFL football team experience - up close and personal! My dad was a huge fan and would take my brothers and I to the games. Of course he wanted us to meet the players, so we became autograph hounds. Not sure what happened to the rest of my collection but these photos and posters were neatly pressed between cardboard in a box in the attic. Included in this lot are 7 prints: 2 full color team posters and 5 black and white player photo prints. B/W Photo Prints: 8.5" x 11, includes logo and player name (2) # 60 Bob Babich , Line Backer, Miami (OH), first round pick in 1969, with the Chargers to 1972. One is personally autographed to me! The signed one has some fading and slight discoloration ("browning effect" like an old newspaper, but still nice collector piece). /trads/hall-of-fame-1975class.html (1) # 78 Walt Sweeney , Guard, Syracuse, with the Chargers from 1963 to 1973, Chargers Hall of Fame 1981, 9-time Pro Bowler . Signed. This autograph is part of the printed image. /wiki/Walt_Sweeney (1) # 43 Jim Tolbert , Defensive Back / Safety, Lincoln, with the Chargers from 1966 to 1971, 1976. This one is unsigned.
