"Straight from Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds' ..." Up for auction is a nice Dinky Toys No. 101 Thunderbird 2 . The diecast model is of a supersonic carrier aircraft that transports rescue vehicles and equipment in detachable pods. This toy vehicle was made in England by Meccano Ltd from 1972 to 1973. It is marked "Made under licence for Century 21 Toys Ltd" along with the Dinky Toys markings.This Thunderbird is a blue-green variation with thin yellow plastic folding legs. The pod does not stay in the aircraft and is missing the door/ramp as well as Thunderbird 4. The red and chrome rear thrusters are broken and there is tape residue where they attach to the aircraft. On the plus side, t he push button undercarriage release works, as do all of the legs. There is minimal paint loss - mostly on the pod, nose and wings. Due to these condition issues, this Thunderbird is being sold as-is for parts or repair only. Please review all of the photographs.
