Up for auction is the Mattel Busy Barbie with Holdin' Hands from 1972/1973. This is the second issue with the Hong Kong body and has some of the usual problems typical of most of the Hong Kong and Taiwan bodies from the early 70's. The arms and legs are so delicate and break from the torso so easily - with this doll, the legs are intact but the arms have come off. Unfortunately, the extra part of the knobs on the torso that the arms snap onto are missing (and are NOT stuck inside the arms), so to attach the arms you would either have to tape, glue, or repair with a screw (I think there are restorers who do that). Her hands do function correctly and the arms do not have blue stains as many do. Her left knee does not She has a very pretty face and silky hair, and is a fairly hard-to-find doll, so I felt she was worth salvaging. Please view the photos carefully to supplement my description.
