For sale is my 1977 MGB GT. with only 64000 miles on the clock. Update: I have taken a video of the car for you to have a look at. Here is the link: /watch?v=rixfo-5cccI&feature=youtu.be Selling as I really need a more modern car for my trip too and from work every day. I would ideally class the car as a running restoration project but it could be used easily (I should know as it's been ferrying me to and from work for the past few months) The car was garaged for 4 years before i purchased it from a friend. and before that was used as a recreational car for travelling to the lakes and classic car shows throughout the year. Good points: 10 months MOT 5 months tax Mountney steering wheel engine is good The floors and sills are good, The boot floor is immaculate Everything electrical works fine. from the rear heated screen to the radio and all lights Has had a brand new 12v battery fitted last month. New washer motor fitted Comes with a big box of bits including a brand new clutch kit! (the clutch on the car is perfectly fine however), distributor cap, switches, ignition coil, mirrors, filters, cans of various things, the original steering wheel, lots of bits and bobs will come with it as use for spares. Air horn has been installed which sounds great Has had a good service since I got it including oil/filter change, spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid, and ht leads. Tyres are good. Has the full length Webbasto roof which is fully working and dosen't leak at all. This is an excellent feature in the summer! Had it on the ramp at a friends garage not too long ago, and other than the usual surface rust it was solid. Bad points: The overdrive isn't functioning at the moment, The most common cause of this is usually the switch at the top of the gearknob although I havent tested this. I rarely need the use for the overdrive in most cases anyway. Paint work isn't the best, don't let the photos fool you its not the best job in the world. I suppose it could t cut and polish and mop up well over a weekend job but it would best benefit from a respray. Runs a tiny little lumpy when first started up in the morning. I could most likley narrow this down to the fact that carbs havent been set up properly in a while and the distributor cap could do with being changed (although this comes with the car) once its been running for a few minutes though its lovely. Or if you pull the choke out a little bit you barely notice it at all even when freezing cold. You can't really notice this but I thought I'd best be honest. The door latches are a bit stiff so you have to be quite firm with the doors when closing them, It seems when the sills were replaced a while back by the previous owner he may have put the drivers door back on slightly too low. Temperature gauge dosent work. seems to be a faulty connection as sometimes it does and the gauge itself works fine when having direct power connected to it. Overall however the car is a rather cheap classic MG with a long MOT and road tax. Yes it's not perfect and would ideally be classed as a running restoration but it's a car you could drive away, it will get you to work and at weekends you can tinker about with its various little foibles. The box of bits and the mountney steering wheel alone are probably worth more than 200 pounds. It would be a great value mot'd b considering these can sell for a grand with no mot on them. and viewing is really recommended prior to the sale so you can have a good look.
