1977-78 WHA vs. Soviet All Stars ProgramAt Edmonton, December 2124 Pages,excellent condition1977-78 WHA-Soviet program - This is a beautiful program from the 1978 International Series between the WHA Teams and the Soviet All Stars. It was part of an extensive series of games between the WHA clubs and teams from Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Finland and the USSR. Most of the games were played on the home rinks of a number of the WHA clubs, and based on the date written on the front cover, this program is from the Soviets' game against the Edmonton Oilers.The program has the Soviet roster and all of the rosters for the eight WHA teams. There are great action photos from the 1976 Izvestia Cup tournament in Moscow when the WHA first played on the international stage.In an interesting note, the Soviet goalie was Vladimir Myshkin, who took over in goal in the 1980 US-USSR game (Miracle on Ice) in a controversial move, and of course, the US team pulled off one of the greatest upsets in sports history.
